Infected
Across America a mysterious disease is turning ordinary people into raving, paranoid murderers who inflict brutal horrors on strangers, themselves, and even their own families.
I enjoyed Infected and found myself wearing my headphones around the house so that I could keep listening to the story. There is a lot of violence in this novel so it isn't for everyone, but if you enjoy a good anti-hero who has a whole pile of issues to work through then you will like this story. I do believe that I've an author that I will keep an eye on to what he writes.
As you follow the set of characters through the discovery of the disease which is threatening the United States the pace of the
novel moves between a headlong rush of, "Oh he is not going to do that! Damn, he did", and a more sedate pace during parts where
scientists are trying desperately to understand what is going on while being hampered by the need for secrecy.
This is one of the things that made this book so compelling to me. There are also some genuine funny moments that had me actually chuckling.
Contagious
From the acclaimed author of Infected comes an epic and exhilarating story of humanity’s secret battle against a horrific enemy.
Contagious continues on with our heroes and picks up right where Infected left off. Both of these podiobooks are well worth listening to in my opinion.

Secret World Chronicles 2 and 3
Finished listening to the second and third books of The Secret World Chronicles as could be expected the third one didn't really end. It moved the story forward some more and we all know a little more about the Thule as well as the characters are being developed more. I really hope that the authors don't leave this hanging. It has kept me interested through all three books even though they are basically a collection of short stories from all of the authors.
I've run up against the same problem that I encounter with all of the series that I read. I'm caught up to the last book and now I'll just have to wait until they decide to release some more of their stories for everyone to enjoy.

The Secret World Chronicle Book One
Finished listening to the Secret World Chronicle Book One: Invasion, and it was alright. Not great but good enough that I've already started listening to book 2.

Amber Magic
I figured since there is a currently reading list in the sidebar now it made sense to have a list of the books that I've finished. You can see the whole list if click on the finished Category in the sidebar. So to kick this off I'm done with Amber Magic by B. V. Larson.
Amber Magic is the first book in his Haven series and is available for free from his website. It is a pretty short book and for the most part just introduces us to some of the characters that I assume will continue on through the other books. I won't go into detail here so that I won't give away anything of the story. I will say that it is an enjoyable read, not a page turner. I had no problem setting it down and doing other things, and it took about week for me to get through it in small doses. I will most likely buy the second one and see how it is. I do believe in supporting authors that self publish so that they can keep doing it.
Sky Magic Book 2 is available through Amazon for $2.99. Guess if I want it I will have to install
Amazons Kindle app for PC in virtual box so I can download it and figure out how to format shift it.
That has been something that I've been meaning to do for awhile now so here is my excuse.
