Why Do I Have a Blog
I don't really have a good answer to that question. After sitting and wondering about it for a while the best answer that I've come up with is unsatisfying. The truth is that there is no good reason why I have this blog. I don't really post anything that any family members might be interested in. The general public would also have to be hard pressed for entertainment to do more than glance here. I don't post anything that has any real technical content either. So I'm left, still sitting here wondering why do I bother.
I've never been much interested in keeping a personal journal either but I suppose that is what this comes closest to. There just isn't much personal information here and I don't update it often enough for it to really keep up with my life, such as it is, either. I have always thought that it would be nice to be a writer but I've never had the drive to sit down and write. Like most people I've got stories running around in my head but none of them are demanding to get out.
In the end this really is a case of YAPB (Yet Another Pointless Blog). No real point but just how much of what is out there on Internet really has a point. Maybe someday this will have a point but not now and honestly not anywhere in the foreseeable future.
So there you have it another pointless post on another pointless blog.

The Secret World Chronicle Book One
Finished listening to the Secret World Chronicle Book One: Invasion, and it was alright. Not great but good enough that I've already started listening to book 2.

Unwanted Guest
Got up in the attic today and this little guy scared the bejeebus out of me. It was in a box right next to my head and was doing a very passable imitation of a rattlesnake. I got the box and all down to the backyard and after making sure it really wasn't a rattlesnake, just a little gopher snake, we let it go about its business.

Jetbook Mini
On something of a tech kick today so I'll post this too. Ectaco is coming out with a new reader. The Jetbook Mini which I like because the design is reminiscent of the ebookwise 1150. I still have an ebookwise and I have always liked it because of the ergonomics of it. It is built like a tool that is easy to grasp and not like a fashion accessory that always feels like it is trying to jump out of your hand.
One of the drawbacks is that the thing only supports two formats. Txt and FB2, since it supports FB2 and I use that format quite a bit that is a plus but it would be nice if it supported a drm format of some kind like the jetbook lite does. As I get older I find that there are times when I just want things to work without my having to do a lot of tinkering. Hopefully Ectaco will release new firmware that supports either drm'ed epub or Barnes and Nobles' ereader format.
Special Features list from the Ectaco website. There is also a video of the reader at the link.
